The rise in SGBV cases (Sex and Gender Based Violence) in Kenya since the lock-down has necessitated an increase in preventive and rescue activities from SGBV workers.
Most workers are volunteers that require training to carry out missions, which can be dangerous if confronted without prior experience.
On 9th September 2020, HUGs held a training session with volunteers from Red Cross. Some of the topics covered in the training were:Root Causes, Contributing Factors and Types of GBV Prevention strategies against GBV Multi-sectoral response to GBV SGBV information management.
